NFL Power Rankings - Week 17

One more week to go! The AFC teams are all clinched while there are still two seeds up for grade in the NFC.

The playoff picture is starting to come together in the AFC, while the NFC is still up for grabs.

1. New England Patriots 362
Last Week: 1
Notes: They kept it a lot closer than anticipated against the Jaguars, but the Pats pull off the win.

2. Atlanta Falcons 355
Last Week: 4
Notes: The Falcons now hold the best record, by themselves, in the NFL and have clinched the #1 seed in the NFC. Critics won't give this team credit, however, until they win a playoff game.

3. Denver Broncos 350
Last Week:3
Notes:  They Broncos now have won 10 in a row and can claim the #1 seed in the AFC with a win next week and a Texans loss.

4Houston Texans 288
Last Week: 2
Notes:  Very uninspired play against the Vikings. Everyone's been asking if the Falcons are not as good as their record, but maybe people should be asking the same thing about the Texans.

5.  Seattle Seahawks: 285
Last Week: 6
Notes: No team has been playing as well as the Seahawks have been over the past 3 games. With the Redskins looking in good shape to take the division, two rookie QBs might find themselves playing each other for the first round of the playoffs.

6. Green Bay Packers: 260
Last Week: 7
Notes:  Remember when people were concerned that the Packers might not make the playoffs? They are now a #2 seed in the NFC and look like one of the best in the NFL.

7. San Francisco 49ers 245
Last Week: 5
Notes: Not the type of performance the 49ers wanted against the team they are fighting against for the division.

8.  Baltimore Ravens 185
Last Week: 8
Notes:  A win that might have rejuvenated this team. The Ravens now have officially clinched the AFC North.

9. Chicago Bears 184
Last Week: 10
Notes: The Bears keep their playoff hopes alive with a win against the Cardinals.

10.  Cincinnati Bengals 149
Last Week: 11
Notes:  The Bengals now have clinched a playoff for the second year in a row under the greatness of Andy Dalton and A.J. Green. I'm excited to see how these two players lead this team for years to come.

11. Washington Redskins: 132
Last Week: 12
Notes: Remember when this team was 3-6 and their season was considered over? They now have won 6 straight and are in very good shape to take the NFC East. A win against Dallas next week will clinch it for them.

12.  Minnesota Vikings 118
Last Week: 13
Notes: They won with Adrian Peterson running for less than 100 yards against a 12-2 Texans team. That's a very good sign for this Vikings team.

13. New York Giants 109
Last Week: 9
Notes:  They've played absolutely horrible these past two games. Now with the loss against the Ravens, they not only need to beat the Eagles next week, they need some help to get in. Even if they somehow squeek into the playoffs, they don't look like a team that can repeat this year.

14. Indianapolis Colts: 69
Last Week: 15
Notes: The Colts, yet again, keep things extremely close, but they pull out the win against the Chiefs and now have 10 wins on the season. Here's something crazy..the Colts are 10-5 yet have a net points of -42. Unheard of.

15. Dallas Cowboys: 45
Last Week: 14
Notes: The Cowboys find themselves on the losing end of a close game this time against the Saints. They're still in the playoff race, but need to beat a red hot Redskins team to do it (along with some help).

16. New Orleans Saints: 39
Last Week: 17
Notes: I expect this Saints to rebound next year after having a subpar season this year.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers: 26
Last Week: 16
Notes: At this point, usually the Steelers are playing for playoff seeding, but they are now out of the playoff race after losing to the Bengals. They haven't been out of the playoffs since 2009 (and even then they went 9-7).

18. Miami Dolphins: 17
Last Week: 19
Notes: Unless the Jets resolve a lot of their issues, I think the Dolphins will be the new #2 team in the AFC East for the next couple of years.

19. St. Louis Rams: -2
Last Week: 20
Notes: The Rams can end the season above .500 with a win next week against the Seahawks. Not as exciting of a turnaround as the Colts (also 2-14 last season), but still impressive nonetheless.

20.  San Diego Chargers -18
Last Week: 21
Notes: The Chargers take advantage of a deflated Jets team.

21. Carolina Panthers: -21
Last Week: 22
Notes: If the Panthers can play like they have been the last half of the season next year, they can contend for the playoffs.

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: -23
Last Week: 18
Notes: The Buccs need to find the spark that led them to a good first half this season, and actually hold onto it for an entire season.

23. New York Jets: -92
Last Week: 23
Notes: All the game against the Chargers did was ask more questions then answer. Specifically, who the hell is going to be QB for the Jets next year?
24. Cleveland Browns: -104
Last Week: 24
Notes: I was rooting for them to take 3rd in the AFC North (they could have with a win against the Broncos and Steelers), but the Broncos proved to be too tough for this Browns team.

25.  Arizona Cardinals -139
Last Week: 25
Notes: After finally snapping a 9 game losing streak, it's back to reality for this Cardinals team with a loss to the Bears.
26.  Detroit Lions: -146
Last Week: 26
Notes: I still can't believe this team is 4-11 (and now have lost 7 in a row). I don't think they've ever recovered from the Texans game on Thanksgiving.

27. Buffalo Bills: -166
Last Week: 27
Notes: The Bills need to figure out what they're going to do for a QB next season. They can't win with Fitzpatrick.

28. Philadelphia Eagles: -210
Last Week: 29
Notes: They couldn't play upset team against the Redskins. Even though the Giants have been playing horrible as of late, they probably won't be able to against them either.

29 Tennessee Titans: -213
Last Week: 28
Notes: This is the "true" Titans team, not the ones that beat the Jets the previous week. They're terrible.

30  Oakland Raiders: -239
Last Week: 30
Notes: The #30 spot has been a comfortable spot for the Raiders for most of the year and they will likely stay here next week.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -322
Last Week: 31
Notes: They somehow find ways to play really good teams close (although they can never win).
32. Kansas City Chiefs: -328
Last Week: 32
Notes: Still the worst and will likely end the season that way.

NFL Power Rankings - Week 16

The playoff picture is starting to come together in the AFC, while the NFC is still up for grabs.

1. New England Patriots 345
Last Week: 1
Notes: Even with the loss Sunday night, I still think the Pats are the best team in the league. All the loss did, in my opinion, was confirm that there really isn't a team that is by far the best (like the Packers were last year).

2Houston Texans 320
Last Week: 2
Notes: A win against the Colts and the loss by the Patriots puts the Texans in good shape for the #1 seed.

3. Denver Broncos 314
Last Week:3
Notes: Nine wins in a row now for the red hot Broncos. Nobody wants to play this team come playoff time.

4. Atlanta Falcons 312
Last Week: 4
Notes: That impressive win against the Giants helped to shut up critics (for now) stating the Falcons are overrated.

5. San Francisco 49ers 289
Last Week: 5
Notes: A great win against the Patriots that keeps them a game and a half ahead of the Seahawks in the division.

6.  Seattle Seahawks: 233
Last Week:7
Notes: 2 wins in a row now on the road including a 50-17 dismantling of the Bills. The Seahawks have pretty much secured a spot in the playoffs.

7. Green Bay Packers: 203
Last Week:9
Notes: The Packers, once again, win the NFC North.

8.  Baltimore Ravens148
Last Week: 8
Notes:  The Ravens have lost 3 in a row now, but still have clinched a wildcard birth in the playoffs. Things don't get easier for this Ravens team with a game against a desperate Giants who find ways to win when they need to.

9. New York Giants 147
Last Week: 6
Notes: Despite being a 9th seed currently, the Giants control their own destiny. The Redskins and Cowboys still have a game against each other. If the Giants win out (10-6) they will end up with a better record than either the Redskins or the Cowboys (at minimum) and would hold the tiebreaker over any potential 10-6 teams like the Vikings and Bears.

10. Chicago Bears 145
Last Week: 10
Notes: From 7-1 to 8-6. The Bears are in trouble. They do have have a fairly easy schedule to close out the season, but even if they win out, they might not make it.

11.  Cincinnati Bengals 126
Last Week: 11
Notes:  With the Bengals winning and the Steelers losing, they can clinch a playoff spot with a win against the Steelers next week. With the way the Ravens are playing, they can even take over the division.

12. Washington Redskins: 105
Last Week: 13
Notes: The red hot Redskins find themselves in first after a win with their second string QB. Five wins a row makes it the longest active streak in the NFC.

13.  Minnesota Vikings 81
Last Week: 16
Notes: Adrian Peterson has been keeping this Vikings team in the playoff picture. Forget Comeback Player of the Year, he might win MVP.

14. Dallas Cowboys:63
Last Week: 17
Notes: The Cowboys win against the Steelers and keep their playoff hopes very much alive.

15. Indianapolis Colts: 51
Last Week: 12
Notes: The Colts need to find ways to win against teams like the Texans in order to have a shot in the playoffs.

16. Pittsburgh Steelers:44
Last Week: 15
Notes: Surprising to think at this point, the Steelers look like they have more of a chance to NOT make the playoffs, then make it.

17. New Orleans Saints: 16
Last Week: 22
Notes: Every once in a while, the Saints show the brilliance of their previous seasons like they did in Sunday's game against the Buccs.

18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:7
Last Week: 14
Notes: All but mathematically eliminated now.

19. Miami Dolphins: -13
Last Week: 23
Notes: The Dolphins hope to win out their last 2 games to end the season at .500, a high note for this team.

20. St. Louis Rams: -31
Last Week:18
Notes: Tough loss for the Rams, but am excited to see what Fisher does with this team next year.

21.  San Diego Chargers -48
Last Week: 19
Notes: The Chargers are officially out of the playoff race (not that they would have made it anyway). Norv Turner better have his resume ready.

22. Carolina Panthers: -52
Last Week: 26
Notes: If the Panthers played like they have been playing their last 2 games all season, they might actually be in the playoff hunt. Too little too late.

23. New York Jets: -63
Last Week: 20
Notes: You're fighting for your playoff life and you lose to the Titans? Pathetic.

24. Cleveland Browns: -69
Last Week: 21
Notes: The Browns playoff hopes are now officially over. Weeden and Richardson might make this team a lot more competitive the next couple of years though.

25.  Arizona Cardinals -107
Last Week: 28
Notes: The Cardinals finally snap out of their 9 game losing streak with a win against the Lions.

26.  Detroit Lions: -118
Last Week: 24
Notes: Can you tell this team has given up? After losing close games, and being on the wrong end of bad calls, this team looks defeated emotionally and physically.

27. Buffalo Bills: -133
Last Week: 25
Notes: Another loss for the Bills drops them even further in the rankings.

28 Tennessee Titans: -146
Last Week: 29
Notes: Not what you'd call a great Monday Night football game by any means, but the Titans played the role of upset well and eliminated the Jets from playoff contention.

29. Philadelphia Eagles: -188
Last Week: 27
Notes: That was one of the sloppiest games of football I've seen in a long time. It sums up the Eagles season.

30  Oakland Raiders: -213
Last Week: 30
Notes: The Raiders finally find a competitor that even they can beat.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -296
Last Week: 31
Notes: Now competing with the Chiefs for the worst record in the league.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: -306
Last Week: 32
Notes: See #31.

NFL Power Rankings - Week 15

What  a week. So many upsets and ranking shifts.

 1. New England Patriots 365
Last Week: 2
Notes: The Patriots find themselves in the #1 spot for the first time after 13 games. They destroyed the Texans and showed why they are the team to beat in the AFC and NFL.

2Houston Texans 290
Last Week: 1
Notes: I thought the Patriots were going to win this game, but didn't think they'd absolutely destroy the Texans. This can't be good for the Texans confidence. Their two losses this year have been huge margins. They might need to win out the season now in order to secure a #1 seed.

3. Denver Broncos 276
Last Week: 4
Notes: Now winners of 8 in a row, the Broncos are cruising. If they beat Baltimore next week (who has been playing poorly as of late), they look great to end the season winning 11 in a row.

4. Atlanta Falcons 266
Last Week: 3
Notes: The Falcons get upset against the Panthers, but still are a game and a half ahead for the #1 seed in the NFC. No matter what seed they end the season, they could face a lot of issues come playoff time.

5. San Francisco 49ers 262
Last Week: 5
Notes: Another win for Kaepernick. Things get tougher, however, Sunday night against the Pats.

6. New York Giants 192
Last Week: 9
Notes: The Giants have been looking great since the bye. They've gone 2-1, with two convincing wins against the Packers and Saints. Their loss was only by one point on the road against the red hot Redskins.

7.  Seattle Seahawks: 189
Last Week: 10
Notes: Wow. I get the Cardinals are playing horrible football, but this was still a very impressive win on both sides of the ball for Seattle. They now find themselves controlling the 5th seed in the NFC. The 49ers better not let their foot off the gas because the Seahawks are right behind.

8.  Baltimore Ravens 181
Last Week: 7
Notes: Two losses in a row for this Ravens team and now they face a red hot Broncos on Sunday. They still are in good shape to take the AFC North with both the Steelers and Bengals losing, but it might be a lot closer than expected.

9. Green Bay Packers: 179
Last Week: 8
Notes: Winners of two in a row, the Packers look to have control over the NFC North.

10. Chicago Bears 177
Last Week: 6
Notes: The Bears went from looking like a sure thing to make the playoffs to things getting very scary for this team. Injuries on D have caused them to lose their dominance in this area and are now the 6th seed after being a 3 seed a couple of weeks ago.

11.  Cincinnati Bengals 85
Last Week: 11
Notes:  Tough loss for the Bengals. A win would have put them in the 6th seed. Given how the Steelers have been playing, however, they are still far from being out of it.

12. Indianapolis Colts: 73
Last Week: 14
Notes: They don't make it look easy, but the Colts are now at 9-4. This is incredible for a team that was 2-14 the year before and who has a rookie QB.

13. Washington Redskins: 68
Last Week: 15
Notes: One of the hottest teams in football right now. The Redskins have an easier schedule than the Giants to close out the season, but they can't take teams like the Browns and Eagles lightly.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 61
Last Week: 13
Notes: Two weeks ago, they looked like they would be competing for a playoff spot until the very last game. Now, the Buccs playoff hopes are slowly getting away from them.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers:58
Last Week: 12
Notes: The Steelers losing against the Chargers with Big Ben back shows that the team has some big issues that their starting QB can't fix.

16.  Minnesota Vikings 47
Last Week: 16
Notes:  A huge win for the Vikings that keeps them right in the thick of things.

17. Dallas Cowboys:40
Last Week: 17
Notes: It looked like a loss for this Cowboys team but they managed to pull out the win against the Cowboys and now find themselves above .500 where they haven't been since week 3.

18. St. Louis Rams: 0
Last Week:19
Notes: Don't count the Rams out yet. 6-6-1 is far from out of the playoff picture.

19.  San Diego Chargers -11
Last Week: 21
Notes: The Chargers played like they had something to prove. A good win that won't save their season, but a good win nonetheless.

20. New York Jets: -39
Last Week: 23
Notes: The Jets win and keep their playoff hopes alive, but Sanchez was far from convincing.

21. Cleveland Browns: -40
Last Week: 25
Notes: The Browns now have won 3 in a row after destroying the Chiefs.

22. New Orleans Saints:-45
Last Week: 18
Notes: Officially the nail in the coffin. The best that these disappointing Saints can do now is finish at .500 which won't make the playoffs.

23. Miami Dolphins: -49
Last Week: 20
Notes: Remember back when the Dolphins were fighting against the Colts for a playoff spot? Seems like a distant memory. They've gone 1-5 since that game (including the loss against the Colts).

24.  Detroit Lions: -74
Last Week: 22
Notes: Raise your hands if you thought the Lions would finish last in the NFC North this year? If you said yes, you're a liar. Still, they have officially clinched last place in the division.

25. Buffalo Bills: -80
Last Week: 24
Notes: It's crazy what a few minutes in a game can do. They were minutes away from being very alive in the playoff picture to now all but mathematically out of it.

26. Carolina Panthers: -96
Last Week: 27
Notes: The Panthers are now in upset mode and played a great game against the Falcons.

27. Philadelphia Eagles: -150
Last Week: 29
Notes: The Eagles finally get a win. Foles looked good which is the only positive thing you can say about this season.
28.  Arizona Cardinals -151
Last Week: 26
Notes: From bad to worse. 9 losses in a row with their latest being a 58-0 shutout against the Seahawks, Pathetic.

29 Tennessee Titans: -166
Last Week: 28
Notes: Since the loss to the Jags, I've been saying this team will end the season 4-12. So far so good.

30  Oakland Raiders: -243
Last Week: 30
Notes: Even at 30, I probably have them ranked higher than most in their power rankings.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -262
Last Week: 31
Notes:Well, I guess they're still sticking with Henne despite being pretty terrible.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: -280
Last Week: 32
Notes: Back to reality for the Chiefs who got destroyed by the Browns.

NFL Power Rankings - Week 14

This week's power rankings below.

1Houston Texans 378
Last Week: 1
Notes: The Texans chances of getting a #1 seed gets even better with the Ravens losing and the Texans winning.

2. New England Patriots 361
Last Week: 2
Notes: Very excited to see the Patriots take on the Texans. These two teams are the best in the NFL in my opinion.

3. Atlanta Falcons 319
Last Week: 3
Notes: The Falcons have wrapped up the NFC South and hope to do the same with the #1 seed in the conference.

4. Denver Broncos 284
Last Week: 6
Notes: Broncos already have more wins this year than they had in all of 2011 (and also clinched the NFC West 4 weeks earlier).

5. San Francisco 49ers 268
Last Week: 4
Notes: Another OT game against the Rams, but this time the 49ers find themselves on the losing end. Harbaugh has to stick with Kaepernick at this point. Going back and forth would be a bad move for a time fighting for a good seed in the playoffs.

6. Chicago Bears 237
Last Week: 5
Notes: Tough OT loss for the Bears. The loss knocks them back into second place in the division.

7.  Baltimore Ravens 235
Last Week: 7
Notes: The Ravens finally lose a game to the Steelers without Big Ben. They're still two games ahead in the AFC North and are in good shape to take the division.

8. Green Bay Packers: 187
Last Week: 9
Notes: The Packers find themselves in first place in the NFC North after beating the Vikings and are only a half game back of a #2 seed (and first round bye in the playoffs).

9. New York Giants 131
Last Week: 8
Notes: All of a sudden the Giants go from looking in good shape for a playoff birth to it getting very very close. They are still in the driver's seat and could sneak in as a wildcard if they lose out the division, but they are likely going to have to win the NFC East to make it. They probably will need to go 3-1 to make it which isn't easy with games left against the Ravens, Saints, Eagles, and Falcons.

10.  Seattle Seahawks: 109
Last Week: 11
Notes: The Seahawks finally win another game on the road and keep a hold onto the 6th seed.

11.  Cincinnati Bengals 101
Last Week: 12
Notes:  One of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. Steelers better keep winning because the Bengals are right behind them.

12. Pittsburgh Steelers: 89
Last Week: 13
Notes: The Steelers face the Chargers and Cowboys before taking on the Bengals at home. I have a feeling that Bengals game will decide the 6th seed of the playoffs.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:77
Last Week: 10
Notes: After two very tough opponents, things get easier for the Buccs with a home against the Eagles. However, they shouldn't overlook this Eagles team who is beyond desperate for a win.

14. Indianapolis Colts: 54
Last Week: 15
Notes: I probably have them ranked lowest out of all power rankings. The Colts are a good team and are finding ways to win games. Andrew Luck has also been sensational as a rookie. In terms of overall talent, I put them thought right in the middle of all 6-6 / 7-5 teams (which I think they are at the same level as).

15. Washington Redskins: 40
Last Week: 16
Notes: 3 divisional wins in a row and all of a sudden the Redskins have a legit shot of making the playoffs.

16.  Minnesota Vikings 20
Last Week: 14
Notes:  That loss makes the road ahead to the playoffs even more difficult, but it's good to see the Vikings have a much improved season over 2011.

17. Dallas Cowboys:16
Last Week: 19
Notes: They beat the Eagles and are now only 1 game behind the Giants in the NFC East.

18. New Orleans Saints: -8
Last Week: 17
Notes: Their technically still in the playoff race, but that loss to the Falcons pretty much ends it for this Saints team.

19. St. Louis Rams: -21
Last Week: 22
Notes: I doubt the Rams will make the playoffs (the best they can do is 9-6-1 which might not even be good enough for a playoff birth), but this team is definitely going in the right direction under Fisher's leadership.

20. Miami Dolphins: -22
Last Week: 18
Notes: The Dolphins lose and are now in a 3 way tie with the Jets and Bills for 2nd place (or last..however you want to look at it).

21.  San Diego Chargers-39
Last Week: 20
Notes: The Chargers will likely finish even worse than they did in 2011. It will be hard for Norv Tuner to come up with excuses for why.

22.  Detroit Lions: -54
Last Week: 21
Notes: Probably having the worst luck out of any team in the NFL right now. They lose one to the Texans that they should have won (due to a bad call) and then they lose to the Colts in the last drive of the game after a great comeback by them. Hard for a team to bounce back after that especially after sitting at 4-8.

23. New York Jets: -62
Last Week: 24
Notes: It will be interesting to see what the Jets do next week in terms of starting QB. I know they believe they still are in the playoff hunt, but at this point they might as well see what McElroy can do.

24. Buffalo Bills: -63
Last Week: 26
Notes: Believe it or not, the Bills have four winnable games to close out the season (Rams, home against the Seahawks, Jets, and Dolphins) which would put them at 9-7.

25. Cleveland Browns: -78
Last Week: 25
Notes: The Browns are on a winning streak. A sentence I thought I'd never say this season.

26.  Arizona Cardinals -79
Last Week: 23
Notes: Wow..make it 8 losses in a row. The Eagles are the only other team with that many losses in a row.

27. Carolina Panthers: -135
Last Week: 27
Notes:  There are many things this 3-9 team will need to address in the off season.

28 Tennessee Titans: -147
Last Week: 28
Notes: 4-16 is my prediction for this bad, bad team.

29. Philadelphia Eagles: -173
Last Week: 29
Notes: Andy Reid is reaching for anything positive in these press conferences, but he knows he's gone after this season.

30  Oakland Raiders: -215
Last Week: 30
Notes: . The Raiders better watch out. The Chiefs are only a game behind them.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -240
Last Week: 31
Notes: .Almost were dropped to 32 in the rankings, but still think they are slightly better than the Chiefs.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: -241
Last Week: 32
Notes: An emotional filled game for this Chiefs. Can't imagine what they were / are going through. A well earned victory.

NFL Power Rankings - Week 13

This week's rankings features a new #2.

1Houston Texans 302
Last Week: 1
Notes: Two overtime wins in a row doesn't make this team look as dominant as they did a couple of weeks back, but they are still at 10-1 and, in my opinion, the best in the NFL.

2. New England Patriots 281
Last Week: 3
Notes: More than half of the games they've been playing are reminiscent of their brilliant 2007 season. Thanksgiving against the Jets was one of those games. Nobody wants to play the Pats right now.

3. Atlanta Falcons 255
Last Week: 2
Notes: Another example of the Falcons just skating by. Yes they are 10-1, but all of their games in November have been decided by 6 or less points.

4. San Francisco 49ers 246
Last Week: 4
Notes: I feel bad for Alex Smith. He deserves to be the starter after how great he's been performing, but Kaepernick looks to be (potentially) more efficient at getting the passing game going.

5. Chicago Bears 219
Last Week: 7
Notes: They have Jay Cutler back and are just as dangerous as they were before his injury.

6. Denver Broncos 214
Last Week: 5
Notes: Division games are always tough, despite opponent and Sunday's game against the Chiefs was no exception. However, they got the win and are pretty much a lock now for the division.

7.  Baltimore Ravens 213
Last Week: 6
Notes: A nail biter against the Chargers, but the Ravens are now at 9-2 and a comfortable 3 games ahead in the division.

8. New York Giants 161
Last Week: 9
Notes: The bye week seemed to do the Giants well as they played one of their best games of the season Sunday night against the Packers.

9. Green Bay Packers: 123
Last Week: 8
Notes: That loss drops the Packers back into 2nd place. While they will most likely make the playoffs (whether it's as a division winner or a wildcard), the team's injuries will hurt them if they don't get most of their team back by the playoffs.

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 95
Last Week: 10
Notes: A great game against the Falcons, but they find themselves on the losing end. On the positive side, the 2011 Bucs wouldn't have made that game even competitive.

11.  Seattle Seahawks: 79
Last Week: 11
Notes: If the Seahawks want to be legit contenders, they need to find ways to win more on the road. 1-5 isn't going to cut it.

12.  Cincinnati Bengals 75
Last Week: 15
Notes:  After losing 4 in a row, the Bengals look lights out their last 3 games. They've played dominant football against the Giants, Chiefs, and Raiders. Their next 3 games are against opponents below .500, all winnable games, before facing the Steelers.

13. Pittsburgh Steelers:64
Last Week: 12
Notes: Charlie Batch showed why he's the 3rd string quarterback. The Steelers are in a lot of trouble if Big Ben doesn't return next week.

14.  Minnesota Vikings 48
Last Week: 13
Notes:  Ugly game against the Bears. That loss pretty much secures them for 3rd place in the NFC North.

15. Indianapolis Colts: 27
Last Week: 17
Notes: The Colts find themselves now at 7-4 and a game ahead of the current 6th seeded Steelers. If they beat the Lions and Titans next 2 weeks, they'll be at 9-4 and in good shape to take one of the wildcard seeds.

16. Washington Redskins: 18
Last Week: 18
Notes: The Redskins keep their playoff hopes alive with two impressive wins against divisional opponents.

17. New Orleans Saints:10
Last Week: 14
Notes: The Saints need to rebound and beat the 10-1 Falcons (again) in order for any shot of the playoffs. No easy task.

18. Miami Dolphins: 0
Last Week: 21
Notes: The Dolphins still have a long road ahead to make it into a wildcard seed with the Colts, Steelers, and red hot Bengals ahead, but they got the important win against the Seahawks. Now they need to take it one game at a time.

19. Dallas Cowboys: -5
Last Week: 16
Notes: You're fighting for the NFC East division and then you play like garbage against the Redskins.

20.  San Diego Chargers -19
Last Week: 19
Notes: And that's the nail in the coffin. The Chargers played the Ravens tough, but couldn't get the win.

21.  Detroit Lions: -33
Last Week: 20
Notes: Gotta feel bad for the Lions. They should have gotten the win against the Texans. A bad call and a bad challenge cost them the game. Even if they beat the Texans, it probably wouldn't have saved their season anyway.

22. St. Louis Rams: -39
Last Week: 22
Notes: A win against the Cardinals moves the Rams out of last in the NFC West.
23.  Arizona Cardinals -64
Last Week: 23
Notes: Now they are at 7 losses in a row. Even with a new QB, I thought they were going to pull off the win. I guess the safe bet is to go against the Cardinals.

24. New York Jets: -86
Last Week: 24
Notes: Rex Ryan is trying to give this team hope that they can still make the playoffs, but all they are fighting for now is to not end up last in the division.

25. Cleveland Browns: -93
Last Week: 27
Notes: Even though it was against Charlie Batch, the Browns D played well and took the upset win.

26. Buffalo Bills: -98
Last Week: 25
Notes: The Bills schedule gets a little easier with games against the Jags and the Rams

27. Carolina Panthers: -106
Last Week: 29
Notes: Not too many bright spots for the Panthers this season, but they managed to pull themselves out from being the worst in the NFC conference after beating the Eagles.

28 Tennessee Titans: -124
Last Week: 26
Notes: The Titans are a 4-7 team that play like a 1-10 team.

29. Philadelphia Eagles: -144
Last Week: 28
Notes: If the season ended today, the Eagles would be dead last in the NFC conference. This was a team that was expected to at minimum be competitive all year.

30  Oakland Raiders: -198
Last Week: 30
Notes: Another week, another loss for the Raiders.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -205
Last Week: 31
Notes: I'm not on the Henne bandwagon yet, but I think that a big change to helped sparked something positive in this Jags team.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: -262
Last Week: 32
Notes: The Chiefs played the Broncos tough, but they are a terrible team.

NFL Power Rakings - Week 12

Chicago takes a huge drop in the rankings along with other big changes.

1Houston Texans 273
Last Week: 1
Notes: When the best in the league faces the worst in the league at home, the last thing you expect is an overtime game (even if its a divisional game). The Texans almost had a huge upset loss, but managed to pull out the win and are only one of two teams with 1 loss on the season.

2. Atlanta Falcons 234
Last Week: 3
Notes: The Falcons seem to be playing down to their competition every week which could explain these one possession wins they keep getting. While they are still at 9-1 and in great shape to take the NFC South, they might find themselves losing out on the 1 seed if they keep playing like this.

3. New England Patriots 225

Last Week: 4
Notes: Everybody keeps talking about the Texans and the Falcons, but the Patriots might be the most dangerous team in football right now.

4. San Francisco 49ers 211
Last Week: 5
Notes: An impressive Monday night football showing without their starting QB. Both sides of the ball played well against a great Bears D.

5. Denver Broncos 191
Last Week: 6
Notes: The Broncos now have 5 wins in a row. The way this team has been playing, they might not lose another game this season.
 6.  Baltimore Ravens 185
Last Week: 7
Notes: Even though they weren't facing Big Ben, the D held up their end of the bargain against the Steelers. The Ravens look to be in good shape to take the division and will almost seal the deal if they can sweep the Steelers.

7. Chicago Bears 179
Last Week: 2
Notes: The Bears didn't look like the Bears we saw in their first 9 games. It's hard to say that this team isn't an elite one after just one game. They were playing with Campbell at QB, who didn't look great, and even though the D struggled, they will rebound.

8. Green Bay Packers: 159
Last Week: 8
Notes: They've now won 5 in a row and are in first in the NFC North. That being said, this isn't the same Packers team as 2011.

9. New York Giants 110
Last Week: 9
Notes: The Giants face a very important game against the Packers next week. In fact, every game they have left on their schedule might be important with the Cowboys right on their tail. They have one of the toughest (if not the toughest) remaining schedules in football so it won't be that easy.

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 106
Last Week: 12
Notes: Out of nowhere, the Buccs have won 4 in a row and are now above .500. Even if they don't make the playoffs this year, I'm excited to see how this team performs in 2013.

11.  Seattle Seahawks: 97
Last Week: 11
Notes: The Seahawks need to continue to play well with the Buccs and Vikings right on their tail.

12. Pittsburgh Steelers: 85
Last Week: 10
Notes: The D played well, but the game against the Ravens shows how important Big Ben is to the Steelers. In a tight battle in the AFC, the Steelers might find themselves on the outside looking in if Ben doesn't return soon.

13.  Minnesota Vikings 77
Last Week: 13
Notes:  The Vikings face two tough divisional games back to back against the Bears and Packers.

14. New Orleans Saints: 34
Last Week: 17
Notes: The Saints continue to play great football and now find themselves at .500. After looking completely out of the playoff picture, they are all of a sudden right back in the thick of things.

15.  Cincinnati Bengals 21
Last Week: 21
Notes: A second straight great game played by the Bengals. With Big Ben out, the Bengals hope to continue to gain ground on the Steelers and take over 2nd place in the AFC North (and a playoff seed).

16. Dallas Cowboys: 14

Last Week: 19
Notes: The Cowboys almost lost against a team that they are a lot better against, but they managed to get the win in overtime. They now have two important divisional games against the Redskins and Eagles which could decide their playoff fate.

17. Indianapolis Colts: -6
Last Week: 14
Notes: I'm excited for how the Colts have been playing this year, but I don't think you can put them amongst the elite and the game against the Patriots proved that.

18. Washington Redskins: -7
Last Week: 23
Notes: This team won't make the playoffs, but I'm excited to see what RGIII and the Skins do next year and in the future when the team (hopefully) gets a stronger defense.

19.  San Diego Chargers -9
Last Week: 15
Notes: That game against the Broncos was basically a playoff game for the Chargers. Expect Norv Turner to be fired after the Chargers don't make the playoffs yet again this year.

20.  Detroit Lions: -22
Last Week: 16
Notes: A close one against the Packers, but the Lions find themselves on the losing end yet again.

21. Miami Dolphins: -23
Last Week: 18
Notes: The Dolphins went from legit playoff contender to one of the worst in the AFC. It's crazy what 3 games can do.

22. St. Louis Rams: -28
Last Week: 22
Notes: The Rams are improved over last season, but they still have a long way to go. The game against the Jets showed this.
23.  Arizona Cadrinals -35
Last Week: 20
Notes: So close against the Falcons, but the Cardinals now have lost 6 in a row.

24. New York Jets: -41
Last Week: 24
Notes: I base my rankings on an algorithm that takes into account record, strength of schedule, home / away record, and net points. This is why the Jets are ranked below the Rams still, despite them destroying the team last week. If they beat the Pats, expect them to skyrocket through the rankings.

25. Buffalo Bills: -79
Last Week: 28
Notes: The Bills finally get a win and find themselves in a 3 way tie with the Dolphins and Jets.

26. Tennessee Titans: -97
Last Week: 26
Notes: I think the Titans are pretty bad, but if they can find a way to beat the Jags, Colts, Jets, and Jags again they'll end the season at .500 which is still better than expected at this point.

27. Cleveland Browns: -119
Last Week: 27
Notes: One thing you can say about the Browns is that they give it their all each and every week. Not good enough to be a team competing for the playoffs, but you have to admire that.

28. Philadelphia Eagles: -128
Last Week: 25
Notes: They now have lost 6 in a row and are last in the NFC East. Firing their defensive coordinator wasn't the answer. Andy Reid will likely join him after this season.

29. Carolina Panthers: -134
Last Week: 29
Notes: Poor Panthers. They looked like they were going to pull out the win, but bad teams find ways to lose leads and the Panthers are no exception.

30  Oakland Raiders: -161
Last Week: 30
Notes: Another terrible loss by the Raiders.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -230
Last Week: 32
Notes: They move up after an impressive showing on the road against the Texans.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: -239
Last Week: 31
Notes: I don't know what else to write about this team. They're bad and are in good shape to end the season at 1-16.

NFL Power Rankings - Week 11

With Atlanta's first loss, we have a new #1!

1Houston Texans 257
Last Week: 3
Notes: They look like the best team in football right now on both sides of the ball. Now that there are no undefeated teams anymore, the Texans could be at the top of the rankings for the remainder of the season.

2. Chicago Bears 216
Last Week: 2
Notes: The Bears to me are the best in the NFC right now. Even though they were on the losing end to a very good Texans team, their defense still played great. Hopefully Jay Cutler can be cleared to play next week.

3. Atlanta Falcons 210
Last Week: 1
Notes: It was bound to happen eventually. After going 8-0 the Falcons finally lost in a close battle to the Saints. Given the big lead they have in the division, they should have no problem winning the NFC South unless they suffer from a monumental collapse.

4. New England Patriots 196

Last Week: 5
Notes: A closer battle than anticipated, but the Patriots continue to show why they are by far the best in the AFC East and one of the best overall in the NFL.

5. San Francisco 49ers 166
Last Week: 4
Notes: Who would have thought the first tie in the NFL this season would be a game involving the 49ers and the Rams? With the Seahawks right on the 49ers tail, it will be interesting to see if the tie might negatively impact the 49ers towards the end of the season.

6. Denver Broncos164
Last Week: 8
Notes: Winners of 4 in a row, the Broncos are playing excellent football behind the superb playing of Peyton Manning.

7.  Baltimore Ravens 162
Last Week: 9
Notes: That game helped to quiet critics who said the Ravens' offense couldn't carry this team with all the injuries they have on defense. What an impressive game against the Raiders.

8. Green Bay Packers: 141
Last Week: 7
Notes: The Packers look to extend their winning streak to 5 with a road game against the Lions.

9. New York Giants 110
Last Week: 6
Notes: Even before the 2 game losing streak, the Giants have been playing kind of sloppy stemming back to the game against the Redskins. Their remaining schedule is one of the toughest (if not the toughest) in the NFL so they need to work out their issues ASAP or they might find themselves on the outside looking in come playoff time.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers: 100
Last Week: 10
Notes:It was a lot closer than anticipated, but the Steelers find themselves at 6-3 and on a 4 game winning streak.

11.  Seattle Seahawks: 92
Last Week: 12
Notes: The Seahawks continue to impress with another win against the Jets. Heading into their bye, they are only 1 game behind the 49ers.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 83
Last Week: 11
Notes: One of the nice surprises of the season is the 5-4 Buccs.

13.  Minnesota Vikings 77
Last Week: 14
Notes:  The Vikings continue to show why they are relevant this season with another win against the Lions. They should be fighting for a playoff spot all year.

14. Indianapolis Colts: 49
Last Week: 16
Notes: There's a 4 way tie for the longest active winning streak in the NFL right now between the Broncos, Packers, Steelers and..the Colts. 6-3 is well beyond expectations for a team that was 2-14 last year and was starting a rookie QB.

15.  San Diego Chargers 13
Last Week: 13
Notes: At 4-5, things don't get easier for the Chargers with upcoming games against the Broncos and Ravens.

16.  Detroit Lions: 0
Last Week: 17
Notes: After showing signs of life, they end up losing against the Vikings for a 2 game sweep in the series. The more the season progresses, the more likely it seems the Lions will finish last in the division.

17. New Orleans Saints: -1
Last Week: 19
Notes: A great win against the Falcons. The Saints have now won 4 out of their last 5 and have a winnable game next week against the Raiders. If they win this, they are back to .500.

18. Miami Dolphins: -2
Last Week: 15
Notes: The Dolphins all of a sudden looked like the Dolphins of 2011 with that loss against the Titans.

19. Dallas Cowboys: -3
Last Week: 20
Notes: To me, the better team won in the Cowboys / Eagles game. The way the Giants have been playing as of late, the Cowboys are far from out of the division.

20.  Arizona Cadrinals -21
Last Week: 18
Notes: The Cardinals hope to play like they did the first 4 games of the season after they return from the bye.

21.  Cincinnati Bengals -16
Last Week: 23
Notes: What a way to snap a 4 game losing streak. The Bengals still have a long road ahead if they were to have any shot of the playoffs, but a great win nonetheless.

22. St. Louis Rams: -48
Last Week: 25
Notes: A tie is not a win, but it's a lot better than what was expected from this Rams team against the 49ers.
23. Washington Redskins: -52
Last Week: 21
Notes: The Redskins hope to fix a lot of their issues on D after coming back from the bye.

24. New York Jets: -75
Last Week: 22
Notes: Rex Ryan keeps saying he thinks his team came make the playoffs and win out for the remainder of the season. I'm definitely not seeing what he's seeing.

25. Philadelphia Eagles: -88
Last Week: 24
Notes: If Andy Reid is not fired after this season it will be a huge surprise.

26. Tennessee Titans: -94
Last Week: 30
Notes: The first game all season where I was impressed with the Titans playing.

27. Cleveland Browns: -101
Last Week: 29
Notes: The best of the 2 wins or less teams. This season is lost, but this young Browns team does have some potential for next season.

28. Buffalo Bills: -104
Last Week: 28
Notes: They played the Patriots tough, but, as usual, they find themselves on the losing end.

29. Carolina Panthers: -110
Last Week: 26
Notes: I didn't expect them to beat the Broncos, but definitely expected them to play at least a little better against them.

30  Oakland Raiders: -125
Last Week: 27
Notes: The Raiders find themselves in the bottom 3 after a horrific showing against the Ravens.

31. Kansas City Chiefs: -202
Last Week: 32
Notes: They move up after a loss to the Steelers because they made it a competitive game on the road. The Jaguars pass them in a close battle for the worst in the NFL.

32. Jacksonville Jaguars: -211
Last Week: 31
Notes: :(

NFL Power Rankings Week 10

The Saints gain the most ground this week while the Eagles continue to plummet in the rankings.

1. Atlanta Falcons 234
Last Week: 1
Notes: Halfway through and the Falcons are still undefeated. They do not play a team that's above .500 until the Giants in Week 15. At that point, they should have the division wrapped up.

2. Chicago Bears 233
Last Week: 3
Notes: They've been playing such dominant football for the most part of the season, I had to put them at the #2 spot. Nobody wants to play the Bears right now.

3Houston Texans  222
Last Week: 2
Notes: They pulled up the win against the Bills and remain at the top of the AFC.

4. San Francisco 49ers 176
Last Week: 4
Notes: After the Rams, the 49ers play the Bears for what should be a great game.

5. New England Patriots 147
Last Week: 6
Notes: The Patriots move up during the bye week with a Giants loss.

6. New York Giants 144
Last Week: 5
Notes: Both the Giants and the Steelers were at a disadvantage with Sandy throwing off their routine, but the Giants found themselves on the losing end. The offense looked out of sync, but they should bounce back next week against the Bengals.

7. Green Bay Packers: 135
Last Week: 8
Notes: The Packers looked a lot better against the Cardinals than they did against the Jaguars.

8. Denver Broncos 126
Last Week: 7
Notes: It was a nail biter at one point, but the better team got the win.

9.  Baltimore Ravens 113
Last Week: 9
Notes: An important win especially with all of the injuries this team has. 2 out of their next 4 games are against the Steelers which could decide the division.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers: 82
Last Week: 12
Notes: .Winners of 3 in a row. It should be 4 after they play the Chiefs.

11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 58
Last Week: 13
Notes: The Buccs look like they could be fighting for a wildcard spot for the remainder of the year.

12.  Seattle Seahawks: 56
Last Week: 14
Notes: They clearly are now the 2nd best in the NFC West.

13.  San Diego Chargers 50
Last Week: 15
Notes: Some say that win saved Norv Turner's job for now, but as long as the Chargers stay at .500 don't expect Norv back next year.

14.  Minnesota Vikings 44
Last Week: 10
Notes:  That loss will likely keep them out of the playoffs. Now that the Seahawks and Buccs have the tiebreaker against them and the Packers playing great, a #6 seed looks like a long shot.

15. Miami Dolphins: 43
Last Week: 11
Notes: The game went exactly as it should against the Colts. Two evenly matched teams with the road team losing by a field goal.

16. Indianapolis Colts: 28
Last Week: 16
Notes: Andrew Luck played out of his mind. What a great performance by the rookie QB. They're finding ways to win, but I'm concerned with how close all of their wins have been, regardless of opponent.

17.  Detroit Lions: 24
Last Week: 18
Notes: All of a sudden, the Lions are back at .500 and far from out of the playoff race.

18.  Arizona Cadrinals -4
Last Week: 17
Notes: Now losers of 5 in a row, they face the undefeated Falcons after the bye week.

19. New Orleans Saints: -34
Last Week: 27
Notes: The Saints are now winners of 3 out of their last 4 games, with their only loss coming coming against the red hot Broncos. Handing Atlanta their first loss next week could be the game that completely turns around the Saints season and puts them back in the playoff hunt.

20. Dallas Cowboys: -35
Last Week: 20
Notes: Another close game and another loss. The Cowboys continue to perform well against the elite in the NFL, but can't find ways to win.

21. Washington Redskins: -44
Last Week: 19
Notes: The Redskins playoff dreams seem to be a distant memory. RGIII still continues to play well, but the defense is horrendous.

22. New York Jets: -44
Last Week: 23
Notes: The Jets hope to get back to .500 with upcoming games against the Seahawks and Rams.

23.  Cincinnati Bengals -47
Last Week: 22
Notes: Dalton played well, but the Broncos overpowered them. The Bengals have now lost 4 straight.

24. Philadelphia Eagles: -57
Last Week: 21
Notes: Losers  of 4 straight, the Eagles have a do or die game at home against the Cowboys next week. If they lose this, you can put a fork in the Eagles.

25. St. Louis Rams: -61
Last Week: 26
Notes: They hope to pull off the upset against the 1st place 49ers next week.

26. Carolina Panthers: -70
Last Week: 29
Notes: The Panthers finally get another win. Cam Newton played like he had something to prove. The Panthers need to play like that every week in order to have any shot of a good season.

27  Oakland Raiders: -71
Last Week: 24
Notes: A good game against the Buccs, but the Raiders couldn't get the win. 4-4 would have been great after a slow start.

28. Buffalo Bills: -83
Last Week: 25
Notes: No surprise that the Bills lost against the Texans. They now find themselves in last place in the division.

29. Cleveland Browns: -107
Last Week: 28
Notes: For a second, they had the 4th quarter lead against the Ravens, but the Ravens showed that, even with injuries, they are the better team.

30. Tennessee Titans: -150
Last Week: 30
Notes: Are the Titans really that bad or are the Bears really that good? I say both.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -181
Last Week: 31
Notes: They need to get MJD back if they have any shot of winning another game.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: -184
Last Week: 32
Notes: (Insert another "they suck" comment here)

NFL Power Rankings - Week 9

A new #1 this week and a lot of other changes.

1. Atlanta Falcons 205
Last Week: 2
Notes: I moved them back to the #1 spot after that impressive win over the Eagles. That win shut up critics who stated that the Falcons aren't as good as their record states.

2. Houston Texans  190
Last Week: 1
Notes: Still the best in the AFC until proven otherwise.

3. Chicago Bears 184
Last Week: 3
Notes: They barely got the win, but good teams find ways to come back from behind and close out games.

4. San Francisco 49ers 176
Last Week: 5
Notes: After looking to have some competition against Seahawks and the Cardinals, the 49ers look to be the best in the NFC West.

5. New York Giants 160
Last Week: 4
Notes: I'm a Giants fan and I still moved them down 1 spot in the rankings after a win (and underneath a team that they beat). They played well the first quarter against Dallas, but they looked sloppy for most of the game (especially on offense). That win was extremely important though and makes them look to be in good shape to win the division.

6. New England Patriots 147
Last Week: 7

Notes: The Patriots showed that being in another continent wouldn't have an impact on their playing. They destroyed the Rams.

7. Denver Broncos 108
Last Week: 10
Notes: Watch out because the Broncos look like the team to beat right now. Their next 6 games are against teams with a below .500 record which means the Broncos could be 10-3 with 3 games left (which would likely clinch the division).

8. Green Bay Packers: 106
Last Week: 9
Notes: Some say the Packers are back, but I'm not 100% sure. They won against the Jags, but it was a lot closer than it should have been. This team doesn't have the same feel as the Packers of 2011.

9.  Baltimore Ravens 83
Last Week: 8
Notes: The Ravens should be able to bounce back against the Browns, their first game after the bye.

10.  Minnesota Vikings 69
Last Week: 6
Notes:  Can't give up on this team just yet despite an ugly loss against the Buccs. I can see the Vikings beating both the Seahawks and Lions their next 2 games.

11. Miami Dolphins: 62
Last Week: 15
Notes: The Dolphins proved that they are legit contenders after that impressive win against the Jets. If the playoffs started today, the Dolphins would be in it.

12. Pittsburgh Steelers: 58
Last Week: 14
Notes: The Steelers  might be slowly pulling away from the Bengals in the AFC North. They'll have some stiff competition for a wildcard with the way the Colts and Dolphins are playing though.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 25
Last Week: 21
Notes: The Buccs stated that they're better than their 2-4 record and they showed that against the Vikings.

14.  Seattle Seahawks: 23
Last Week: 12
Notes: They were on the losing end of a shootout against the Lions. That win could be actually be the difference in them not making the playoffs considering how close everything is.

15.  San Diego Chargers 15
Last Week: 13
Notes: The Chargers continue to slowly fall apart after a loss against the Browns.

16. Indianapolis Colts: 5
Last Week: 22
Notes: Andrew Luck already has double the amount of wins than the Colts had during their entire 2011 season. Nobody was thinking playoffs coming into this year, but it sure is a possibility.

17.  Arizona Cadrinals 4
Last Week: 11
Notes: From 4-0 to 4-4. It's safe to say that the Cardinals we saw the first 4 games, aren't the same team we've been seeing in the last 4. Things don't get better for the Cardinals with upcoming games against the Packers and Falcons.

18.  Detroit Lions: -10
Last Week: 23
Notes:They win the shootout against the Seahawks, but the Lions still have a long way to go to recapture the great season of 2011.

19. Washington Redskins: -21
Last Week: 16
Notes: RGIII is still one of the most exciting QBs to watch in the NFL, but the Redskins just aren't at the same level as the elite in the NFL.

20. Dallas Cowboys: -25
Last Week: 17
Notes: They were on pace for a historic comeback, but the Cowboys couldn't get it done. The Cowboys looked sloppy, especially in the first quarter. They have talent, but they look like an undisciplined team. Expect Garrett to go after this season.

21. Philadelphia Eagles: -27
Last Week: 19
Notes: Can people stop saying that the Eagles are an "elite team". I never get why there are such high expectations for the Eagles. Vick is probably the most overrated QB in the NFL. I expect them to lose next week to the Saints.

22.  Cincinnati Bengals -28
Last Week: 24
Notes:  The Bengals hope to get back to .500 after starting the season at 3-1. It won't be easy against the Broncos.

23. New York Jets: -44
Last Week: 18
Notes: After playing two great games against the Colts and Patriots (albeit, still getting the loss against the Pats), they looked horrendous against the Dolphins. As much as I hate the acquisition of Tebow, they need to use him in more unique ways for this Jets team to stand out.

24.  Oakland Raiders: -46
Last Week: 27
Notes: Two wins in a row and all of a sudden the Raiders are back in the playoff race.

25. Buffalo Bills: -59
Last Week: 26
Notes: The Bills have a difficult road ahead with games against the Texans and Pats.

26. St. Louis Rams: -61
Last Week: 20
Notes:  They looked like the Rams of 2011 with that game against the Patriots. Expect another last place finish from this Rams team.

27. New Orleans Saints: -77
Last Week: 25
Notes: They were starting to look like the team we expected them to be, but the Broncos brought them back to reality. This Saints just isn't that good, minus Drew Brees who is still having an exceptional season.

28. Cleveland Browns: -82
Last Week: 30
Notes: From worst in the NFL to winners of 2 out of their last 3. Things get tougher though with their next game being against the Ravens.

29. Carolina Panthers: -98
Last Week: 29
Notes: I thought they were going to pull the upset against the Bears, but bad teams find ways to blow games.

30. Tennessee Titans: -107
Last Week: 28
Notes: Probably have the Titans the lowest out of any other power ranking, but I think they're worse than their 3-5 record. I think the Bears and Dolphins will further prove this over the course of the next 2 games.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -149
Last Week: 31
Notes: You know you're a bad team when a 9 point loss is considered much better than expected.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: -151
Last Week: 32
Notes: Still expect this team to be 1-15. Don't think they will potentially win another game until they play the Bengals at home 3 weeks from now.

NFL Power Rakings - Week 8

Even though Atlanta Falcons had a bye week and are still the only undefeated team, we have a new #1 this week.

1. Houston Texans  190
Last Week: 3
Notes: Such an impressive win against the Ravens on Sunday that we moved this team back into the #1 spot. They look like a better team than the Falcons even with the loss.

2. Atlanta Falcons 172
Last Week: 1
Notes: The Falcons face a tougher than you might think game away against the Eagles who likely will do anything they can to get back above .500.

3. Chicago Bears 166
Last Week: 2
Notes: Their defense had another great showing in holding the Lions to only 7 points. If the defense continues to play like they've had all season, this team can beat anyone.

4. New York Giants132
Last Week: 5
Notes: A close one against the Skins, but Eli did what he does best and lead the Giants to a game winning drive. They now have a 1.5 game cushion lead in the NFC East.

5. San Francisco 49ers 131

Last Week: 6

Notes: The 49ers are now the lone divisional leader after beating the Seahawks Thursday night.

6.  Minnesota Vikings 103
Last Week: 7
Notes: In the battle of the two surprise 4-2 teams, the Vikings showed they were the better team.

7. New England Patriots 89

Last Week: 8

Notes: They didn't win as big as we expected them to, but still got the very important win against the Jets.

8.  Baltimore Ravens 83

Last Week: 4

Notes: That game did little to prove Flacco's statement of being "elite". After the bye, things get easier against the Browns and Raiders.

9. Green Bay Packers:80
Last Week: 12
Notes: The Packers look to be back on track. Unfortunately for them the Bears and Vikings continue to play great football.

10. Denver Broncos 58
Last Week: 11
Notes: Their next 3 games are against teams below .500 before facing San Diego again. If they can take 2 out of 3 and then beat the Chargers they'll be in good shape for the division.

11. Arizona Cardinals 41
Last Week: 9
Notes: Now with 3 losses in a row and QB issues, this team looks like they won't be the team we saw the first 4 games this season. Their next 3 games are against the 49ers, Packers, and Falcons. Ouch.

12.  Seattle Seahawks:37
Last Week: 10
Notes: Despite the loss, Wilson still looks great and this team is far from out of the playoff picture.

13.  San Diego Chargers 29
Last Week: 14
Notes: Before they face Denver again, they have winnable games against the Browns, Chiefs, and Buccs. They'll likely need to win all 3 of these and beat Denver.

14. Pittsburgh Steelers: 23
Last Week: 19
Notes: A big win against the Bengals that moves this team to the .500 mark.

15. Miami Dolphins: 21
Last Week: 15
Notes: Losses by the Bills and Jets moves this team to 2nd in the division. They'll stay there if they beat the Jets next Sunday.

16. Washington Redskins: 9
Last Week: 13
Notes: Despite the loss, RGIII looks fantastic as QB.

17. Dallas Cowboys: -2
Last Week: 23
Notes: They won a "must win" in a close battle against the Panthers. A win against the Giants puts them a half game back with the tie breaker advantage. A loss puts them 2.5 games back and makes the road ahead a lot more difficult.

18. New York Jets: -8
Last Week: 17
Notes: In typical Jets fashion, the game was lost on a fumble by Sanchez. After an impressive comeback, that's one of the worst ways you can lose.

19. Philadelphia Eagles: -10
Last Week: 20
Notes: The Eagles fire their defensive coordinator, but the real issue is the turnovers by Vick. If they can't fix this, the Eagles will not make the playoffs again this season.

20. St. Louis Rams: -11
Last Week: 16
Notes: A loss against the Packers is no surprise. However, this team now faces games against the Pats and 49ers making it very possible for the Rams to be 3-6 after 9 games.

21. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: -14
Last Week: 18
Notes: A loss to the Saints drops them to 3rd in the division.

22. Indianapolis Colts: -29
Last Week: 25
Notes: The win against the Browns puts them at .500

23.  Detroit Lions: -34
Last Week: 22
Notes: Their defense looked good (like the defense we saw last year), but the offense still has a ton of issues. Another loss by the Lions (and a divisional one at that) makes their season all but  officially over.

24.  Cincinnati Bengals -35
Last Week: 21
Notes: Tough loss against the Steelers that makes the road ahead to the playoffs that much more difficult.

25. New Orleans Saints: -42
Last Week: 26
Notes: Are the Saints back? Not quite, but as long as Brees continues to play like he's been playing this team can win a lot more games.

26. Buffalo Bills: -62
Last Week: 24
Notes: In an offensive juggernaut against the Titans, the Bills find themselves on the losing end and last in the division.

27.  Oakland Raiders: -73
Last Week: 29
Notes: Funny how a team plays at the same level against the Falcons and the Jags. They do get the win this time and now have an important divisional game against the Chiefs.

28. Tennessee Titans: -84
Last Week: 30
Notes: The Titans can find themselves at .500 with a win against the Colts next week.

29. Carolina Panthers: -85
Last Week: 27
Notes: What happened to this team? Even with a 6-10 record last season, 1-5 is a huge disappointment.

30. Cleveland Browns: -103
Last Week: 28
Notes: Another close game involving the Browns, another loss.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: -125
Last Week: 31
Notes: If they lost in OT against the Raiders I can't imagine how much they'll lose by against the Packers.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: -126
Last Week: 32
Notes: Even with "winnable" games on the schedule, I can't imagine when this team will win next. 1-15 is a possibility.
